Course Open
The Golf Club

As one of the 9 oldest clubs in England, West Lancashire is full of history and tradition, as well as a very busy golfing and social calendar.  This year, the Club is now celebrating it's 150th Anniversary.

As well as a great golf course, which is currently ranked 28th In Golf World Top 100 in England; 49th in Golf World Top 100 Links GB & Ireland; and 23rd in National Club Golfer Top 100, the Club itself is very welcoming of new members, and there will certainly be a golf competition or group for you to join in.

The gentlemen have Saturday as their competition day, and there are competitions most Saturdays throughout the year. The odd free Saturday throughout the year is taken up with either a Pro’s Optional Team Competition, or will be left free for our very well supported Pairs Winter League from November through to March. Information specifically on the ladies section can be found here.

As well as Saturday competitions, the club also runs a Weekday Medal and Stableford each month and so you are never short of competition golf. These are now run as mixed competitions and are open to all members.

If team sport is your preference, West Lancashire enters the SDGA Junior, Scratch & Handicap and Mixed Leagues.  We have Gents and Ladies Seniors Teams, as well as various Captains' Matches against our fantastic local clubs.

The club also has a thriving Juniors and Seniors section, with team matches and friendly competitions throughout the year.

The two main dinners of the year are our very well supported Spring and St Andrews Dinner. The St Andrews Dinner normally has around 160 attendees with around 30 of the club trophies being presented on the evening.

Our well drained links offer year round, mud free golf and closures or temporary playing surfaces are almost unheard of. Play at The West Lancashire is truly all year round. A time sheet operates every day but you will have ample opportunity for social golf. Simply check the daily playing schedule either with the Professional or on line before making your booking.

The Club also offers non playing membership which gives access to our clubhouse facilities and activities. Please see our membership page for more details.
