This year, David Lowe, 'one of the cracks at Carnoustie', became the Club’s first professional. He was one of three brothers, George, David and William, originally from Carmyllie and then from Carnoustie in Scotland, and all three became golf professionals, and then moved to the South.
He, as the professional/clubmaker, remained at West Lancashire until his retirement in 1920.
